School is almost out !!!

Wow, has it been an exciting school year! Reflecting back on each childs' year may go as followed:
Ashden- Entered into 6th grade (at the new Middle School) he was so very excited to go to the new school, however that meant he must start getting up an hour and a half earlier in order to catch a 6:10 bus ride to school. He tried out for the basketball team, and made it. This meant that he had to cut off all of his hair, well not all, but mostly all. he had hair down way down past his collar and it ended up at the nape of his neck and almost over his ears. Ended up the god awful haircut that he dreaded to get he loved it almost immediately. (Whew, thank god!) Other than that he had a bumpy start getting used to having so many classes and homework, but by the time the first grading period was over he managed to bring all of his grades up and keep them there! YEAH!!
On to Rileigh- Rileigh, how do I put this, needs little or no help with school work. So she makes homework time alot easier!! She helps with Aidyn sometimes, and there has been a time or three that I have asked for her help with some of Ashden's homework. She has brought home all A's and B's the entire year sometimes missing straight A's by about 2%. She always tries her hardest, and now for the last report card will hopefully be bringing home all A's. She tried 2 new sports this year, volleyball & basketball. Volleyball she loved, and may have found her calling, and basketball, well not so much!! Although she did make the A team. Volleyball however she went on to play at the Dunes which is a local club that has great coaches. She got to go on her 5th grade school trip to Chicago which she had a blast! One comment from a teacher was"Rileigh is a "True keeper" she is one of a kind, we wish we could either keep her back a year or clone her!"
Saving the best little school aged yettaw for last, Aidyn-
Aidyn was in 1st grade this year, and while he may not be bringing home letter grades yet, did receive many smiley faces and letter M's for Mastery!! He has come along way this year learning how to read, and master his math facts. He is well loved by his teacher whom he also adores, his face lights up when he talks about her. Thankfully this child knows how to use his manners, and act accordingly at school, now to get him to used those tactics at home. Aidyn was able to go to Spicer Lake for a field trip, which I was lucky enough to brave the rainy day with a wet and muddy nature walk right along with my beautiful brown-eyed boy!! I am proud that Aidyn always tries his best at whatever he does, all the while showing off his heart melting smile!!
Just typing this brings back happy memories for me, with many more to come along. It is a wonder how us moms make it through an entire school year juggling practices and games, homework, dinner, showers and tantrums! It doesn't sound so bad just to write it, although living the moment is very trying, and tiring for any parent, we wouldn't have it any other way!!!
